This spring I was able to spend a day at a small Lake Ontario tributary with Chris Giles float fishing for steelhead.
It wasn't the typical day of fishing that I am used to. In fact it was a completely new experience for me. Before my trip with Chris I had never been float fishing, I usually fish out of a boat. I didn't even own a pair of waders, can you believe that?!? Every angler should own waders. It was all new and let me tell you it was awesome!!
I managed to catch a fish on my very first cast thanks to Chris and it was just one of so many that day. Steelhead are so pretty and they put up a good fight. If you haven't had a chance to catch one of these beauties float fishing than I'd recommend you give it a try.
If you'd like to see just how much fun float fishing can be and learn a thing or two from Chris check out the video of our day at the link below. It's definitely worth the watch.

And remember to take a kid fishing.
